crappie fishing

just thinking about trying some early fishing in the channels around port rowan area . could anyone tell me when crappie start coming into the channels.

I am not a pro Crappie fisherman but from what I know it's a little early. Water is still to cold

You might find bluegills or the odd perch if you can find some open water. I was poking around the Turkey Point channels last week and everything was still iced up. Which sucks because I am getting restless.

I think the waters need to be in the mid 50s for them to go into the flats. If i remember right last year that wasnt untill may.
