Went out Sat afternoon and launched about 2:30. Headed east for a bit then south, straight into the waves. Waves kept building and and would say they were 6-8 when the sky darkened and hightailed back to port. Managed to boat 2 walleye, a couple sheep and a silver. Lost several, too hard to manage in rough water with 1 person driving and the other running rod and net both. Sat outsde in the outdoor patio with a burger and a beer to dry off.
Slipped the boat overnight to avoid the ramp in the morning. Donated a day on the water this winter to our Lions club Casino night draw prize table and took the winners out Sunday. On the water about 7. Limit of 24 by 1pm. Headed east about 10 miles and steadily caught fish in 30-40 fow made a turn out into deeper water and trolled back toward port and made our limit. Winners were pink panties, piston cup, NASCAR, jerry lee, greasy chicken, black/gold rrf. Losers were blueberry muffin, blue/silver rrf. The guys were boaters and fishermen but had never fished big water. They had a riot. It was a great day. yielded almost 24 lb of cleaned fillets.
