Bruce peninsula Rifle hunt

Any body hunt wmu 83 or 84 for the rifle hunt? We hunted 84 and as a group of 6 only saw 2 deer all week, luckily we were able to lay the hammer on both that we saw. Was wondering how other people did up there

We were in 84 on the south west side and we killed 6 bucks for 7 guys, all younger bucks (6, 7 and 8 pointers). All of the deer were shot either going to, coming from or in corn fields. Unfortunately none of our 4 apprentice hunters were able to connect, so we are going to put in an all hands on deck effort to get them some shooting during the muzzle loader hunt in December.

Uncharacteristically in 82a, where we hunt just below the line of 83 we did not do well. Our first day was high winds and swirling badly with no deer seen. Day 2 was rain followed by sleet and misery and we bailed soaked and frozen by 1pm. I managed to get out for 2 hours on the Friday morning and saw 2 does but a shot didn’t present as they where on the move pretty good and close to 300 yards out. My little .243 is more than capable on a stationary target but I am not capable of 300 yard shots on a deer going at a pretty good clip so I held fire. I will be doubling down for muzzleloader season in December and hoping for less snow in 82a than last year when we where on snowshoes trying to fill my buddies tag!

Awesome thanks for the feedback guys, we were at the northern tip of 84 hunting mostly cedar swamps and thick bush. doing some hunting down in southwestern Ontario for a couple weeks then back up towards dyers bay hoping to get one with the muzzleloader

Hunted 82a as well. 5 of us took a yearling, 2 does and an 11 pointer. Here's the bragging part.... I dropped the two does and the 11 pointer while he was chasing one of the forementioned does.
