Bronte Lakers

Last Sunday was our first trip of the Lake O season. On the water by 7am, first fish lost by 730. Another 7 lost by 11 am. Grrrr. Then things shut down, so we went searching. We marked LOTS of hooks on the bottom from 70 to 85', then again out at 120', which we surmised were Lakers. Still looking for Salmon, we went back in shallower and with no takers, we decided to try for those bottom dwellers. What a hoot. Never before have I targeted Lakers, but why not if the Salmon are shut down. In 85' of water, down 83' with about a 25' lead to any spoon we put down there. Kept an 8lb bleeder for supper, the rest we relesed to make some other angler a happy camper. Lots of fun, just not many Salmon at Bronte, yet.:D
