Boat launch

Hey everyone thinking of going perch fishing tomorrow how are the boat launch. Probably going to launch at Collins.

If you have a bigger boat I’d recommend launching from old cut. Little further of a boat ride but there is lots of water in the channels on that side of the bay. I have a 17’ Bankes boat that draft 5-6” of water. With my jack plate up 6” and motor half trimmed I am making mud and turning up weeds in the main channel at Collins. My fish finder reads 1.3.1.9fow. It is VERY shallow there.

We launch out of collins this AM and there was 2 ft of water for about 10 yards then back to 4 to 5 feet. So no problem launching my boat. We didn't catch anything to write home about but a good run with the new boat. Hopefully next time is better

Collins is getting the channel dredged/prop washed starting next week and will be done as needed in the future so depth won't be an issue at all. Just had a lengthy conversation with Marshall and Rick this afternoon about it.

Well worth it! lots of parking, clean Porta John's, and a playground for the kiddos while they are waiting.
