There was a thread posted back in September “Boat Cleaners” I think. If you type that into the search box, you may find it. There was some good discussion there on some products to use.Hello everyone hope you all had a great summer I’m wondering what everyone is using to clean the scum off your boat I had mine docked in burwell and couldn’t believe when I took it out
Muriatic acid always for me. Cleans it right up. Have had a boat in Burwell for many years. Used it in my aluminum boat for years and now my trophy with no issuesMy boat is parked in Burwell seasonally.
I have tried 3 brand name boat cleaners on my aluminum Lund.
The only product that did any significant cleaning of the boat was Muriatic Acid, (the 4th product) but it requires respect.
A TON of respect.
I have a quart bottle of of one, and half a powdered tub of another specialized cleaner that are available for free for someone's use because I won't be using them up.
They did next to nothing on my boat.
Thx for the tip skippy turned out pretty gooda gallon of toilet bowl cleaner from home hardware is $16. spray on, have a beer, rinse off. power washer helps.
I've wanted to try Muriatic acid but have questions. Do you dilute it? How do you apply it? What about the runoff down the driveway etc?Muriatic acid always for me. Cleans it right up. Have had a boat in Burwell for many years. Used it in my aluminum boat for years and now my trophy with no issues
I use it full strength. I apply it with a weed sprayer. Just be sure to rinse the sprayer good afterwards. It is hard on galvanized trailers painted trailers no problem. I do it on the grass it yellows it but comes back in no timeI've wanted to try Muriatic acid but have questions. Do you dilute it? How do you apply it? What about the runoff down the driveway etc?
