Bimini mod

Getting ready for 2020 fishing season! This is my first boat with a bimini. And I love it. But i found it went too far back and was a little short. So I decided to modify it. Where it is in the second pic is where I’m thinking of leaving it. Ish. I would use 30lb braid to hand sew it and use it for the season. If I like it I would build a new one for next season. Would you change anything?

Fishing is just 1 big experiment after another. How much can it be to get someone to stitch it up? I'm "thrifty" (read cheap) too but cutting corners on fishing has always ……..come back to bite me on the ass. I only have so many choice days on the water. So do you.

I know I'm being a little technical but your top is not what they call a Bimini Top which is on the right. You have what they call a Sport Top enclosure on the left. Regardless it will do the same job keeping that burning summertime sun off you.??

I have an 18 ft Misty River with a similar top.I shortened the two angle support poles on the sides at the back.This gave me more working room.Im totally happy with it.

My nephews joke that the top I made myself is fugly. That is til I arrive at my destination dry.
I lengthened my side supports so I can stand up when driving. I have mobility issues so this modification was for me. Might be fugly but I am comfy and dry as I troll in the drizzle.
