Big Creek Marsh

Thinking of taking the kayak up into the marsh off the causeway bridge. Anybody fish up there before? Worth the trip up the river into the marsh?

have not been in there in a while heavy cover
stiffer rod and braid line will help
big dog fish large mouth and some nasty tooth pike
also you might see some real big snapping turtles

I`ve fished it many times the last cpl yrs . I put my kayak in at Port Royal . Once you get out of the trees and in the open , ( headed down river ) not much luck to be had . I`ve marked some big fish in there but only caught small ones . But it`s always been a nice day out on the kayak .
