Just wondering if anyone has done any scouting yet
i was out this morning herd two toms gobbling
then we waited for them to hit the cornstubble after
after an hour and a half we seen 3 toms strutting
and about 5 hens hope the weather in april
straightens away

I've been out to my hunting area the last couple wkends and have seen turkeys all over the place!! One field had at least 30 of them right next to the road....5 of them were Toms from what I could see. Hoping for a good season. Nice weather would be great instead of freezing at 5am leaning against a tree Lol.

it was cold out there this morning but i tell u as soon as the toms
came out we warmed up fast can't wait

I've just started seeing them in the usual spring spots this week, tells me the big flocks are starting break up. I wonder if it will be a different hunt this spring with the late thaw and cooler temps?

I do believe it will be tough for the first little bit
i was out yesterday morning looking at another
spot i hunt the field was full ya full of machinery
putting up wind turbines there goes another spot for this year
but i did see a tom strutting with a lot of hens not in my spot. But with
the weather like this it might slow the hens down and with a tom with that many
hens with him good luck calling him away but time will tell

I'm heading out Sunday to my opening day spot to do some scouting and hunt for some antler sheds, hopefully I have luck in both departments!

I wonder if the birds will be under weight this season? I travel to Missouri weekly and am seeing a ton of birds and deer feeding all day, the deer look skinny.

I seen some hens around the end of feb and they looked thin
but the birds i seen yesterday looked great but it might depend
on different locations.meaning snow depth and how hard it hit them
they should come around now with thing melting

Seen a few outside of Brantford on my way home the other day and 4-500 yards off the road they look like monsters.
