Had been working a shut down the last three weeks ... just waiting to get out ...one late afternoon had a chance to get out set the cams ...back in two weeks .. out to the stand swaped out the first cam SD card ... and then when I went to the second cam before climbing up ..... gone .....it was tucked in a fallen root ball across the creek ... mout was screwed in and no way to be undone without two hands ...what a piss off....people kill me ...scum ... got some pics off the one cam ...

Nice pics ! Too bad about the missing cam but you were on private land , right ? So add trespassing to the theft charge ?

Yes, I have signed permission to be on this land it's private, it's mark no trespassing, and this isn't the first time I've caught people on the back 40.

Had 1 of 2 ripped off at my creek tryi g to catch the guys dumping hydrolic oil there the last 4 years got the lower one but the high one was safe pulls right in and shines the camara wonder what he thought when he seen id 2

So I took down the other cam to save at least one cam from being ripped off ... went out last Friday evening and shot a beautiful 8 point buck ... he bolted half way up the hill in the thickets and wavered back and forth thought he was going down and he went up the hill .... could hear him thrashing around ....
So I scalled down from my stand and went upthe trail found Hugh hemorrhaging of a blood trail so started tracking ... he back tracked down again right to my stand and went north again it took a bit to find the blood trail but back up the same hill ... and at the Top he circled north this time and after 4 hrs of tracking ... I went to the creek to check the banks .... to my surprise there is my cam the one that went missing ... strapped right where I cut the one down to save it from being stolen ... pulled the card and you can see me walking up on the trail cam that was taken and put back up .....

At 11pm we decided to call off the search... legs were cramping so bad from climbing the back 40 in heavy cover ... we regrouped at day break and researched the Eastside of the property... used ihunter tracking system and made waypoints the night before to help pick upthe trail ... making a circle search at the last known blood drop... we realized he made a circle at the top of the hill and went north east ....blood trail was sparce now drop- to drop... now 2 hours into the morning search we made our way....northeast along the fence and we found this beautiful 8 point buck.....and as the title says....hunt went down hill coyotes found him ... he was still warm and no stiffness .... what a shame .... now guilt has come over me and remorse.
..when you pull that trigger there is no taking it back .... I guess I have compassion for animals but still love the outdoors and the thrill of the hunt ...

So I let nature take its course.. for two weeks and went back out to retrieve the rack for a mount Sad to think that all that effort put in to hunting that deer. And this is what I ended up with with... took the 270 with me .. have spooked coyotes walking out there before so went well equipped... I will have a nice mount done up for a tribute to this buck I lost
