I happen to be at a local big box store recently & I noticed Pelican Mission kayakโ€™s on display for sale there. No I never bought a Pelican Mission kayak there, because this past Christmas ๐ŸŽ„ Santa ๐ŸŽ… Claus ๐Ÿ˜‰ brought me this one,a Discovery Solo 119. ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ™‚ I am looking forward to be using my new Discovery Solo 119 this coming spring, but first,a few more ice fishing ๐ŸŽฃ tripโ€™s before the hard water season is over. Enjoy your Groundhog Day everyone, and tight lines & Fish ON!! to All!! ๐ŸŽฃ๐ŸŸ๐ŸŸ๐ŸŸ๐ŸŸ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ™‚

I hope we get more winter. It has been so nice having the bay frozen and actually having time to enjoy the hardwater.

I got a Discovery 119 solo last fall, took it hunting on the river and to hullet. Itโ€™s a great boat, very stable and easy to carry, snuck n the ducks nice! Youโ€™ll love that boat!

Hereโ€™s another pic of the 119 solo with a home made blind, there is vegetation straps on this blind to add cover for hunting! My son took it to Lighthouse cove musky fishing, you can cast easy and troll with the built in rod holders which I use for blind supports! LED light around on the front works great for those dark mornings! Enjoy your ride!33E3148D-21EE-4931-B475-562706EF6F97.jpeg

First day of spring by the calendar is March 20 (6 weeks from now) and the clocks go ahead a week earlier on the 13th so we're going to get 6 more weeks of winter regardless. I don't care one way or the other, I'll still be hibernating, but I could do without anymore snow after whatever we get today and tomorrow that I didn't want either.;)

Groundhog forecast early spring 6 weeks, late spring month and a half, take your choice!

@PlanB good to know that you have a Discovery 119 solo as well, and that you are happy with it. ๐Ÿ›ถ ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ™‚ I am looking forward to be using my new Discovery 119 solo for the first time, once the ice leaves our waterways. I will use mine mostly for fishing around the reeds for fishing for pike & largemouth bass on long point bay,and also for natural inland lakes & reservoirโ€™s & some of the riverโ€™s as well, when our Great Lakes are too windy for me to use my ๐Ÿšค motorboat for walleye & rainbow trout fishing ๐ŸŽฃ. Be safe & keep enjoying your Discovery 119 solo,as much as I hope to do as well. ๐Ÿ›ถ๐ŸŽฃ๐ŸŸ๐ŸŸ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ™‚

A Beautiful setup @PlanB ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘ and thanks as well for the great tipโ€™s on riggin up the Discovery solo 119,especially for mounting the LED light around on the front for those dark mornings. Whenever I donโ€™t feel like towing my motorboat ๐Ÿšค down to lighthouse cove, I will use my solo 119,and no boat ramp needed,to avoid the crowds!! ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ˜‰๐Ÿ™‚ Thanks again & hereโ€™s hoping ๐Ÿคž that I will enjoy my new ride!! ๐Ÿ›ถ๐ŸŽฃ๐ŸŸ๐ŸŸ I will keep in touch & you as well,if you like. ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ™‚

 Ya know something Red, I was just thinking about it and the groundhog isn't the right critter to be listening to when it comes to when spring is here or gonna be.

When I start talking about coming out of hibernation and complaining about how big the damn "honey do" lists are before I can go fishing, that's the true sign of when spring is gonna be here.

**Yes I already have a partial "honey do" list for when the weather warms up but it's not one I've been handed, (she hasn't gotten around to looking for stuff she wants done yet) but rather a pre-emptive I KNOW she's gonna want this done so if I can beat her to the punch this year before she asks, that'll theoretically mean I get to go fishing that much sooner right? ;)***

Wednesday evening was tweaking the snow blower before the Dump of snow and I herd something and I have 6 Robins in front of the house ... Bet they are wishing they stayed south ...
