Slow fishing for us off st.Willy’s , more ice that I expected, we are furthest out and towards Turkey point marsh , I’m measuring like close to 8 inches ice in this spot , the scale is pretty accurate

Finished with 22 keepers 1 pike. A few good ones lost at the hole and lots of dinks. Great maiden voyage with Yakfisherman old pop up...thanks again boss. Little cleo blue/silver did well.

And how did you do

They were all throwbacks for me. I have noticed that the size of perch this past spring/summer/fall are substantially smaller then last year's average size and so far this first trip out was the same.

That being said. I did take out an ice virgin with me and after two amazing pressure cracks formed an X in his hut, he had enough of the noises and cracking. The last one actually lifted me up a bit in my one man flip hut, and that's when he had enough

@Tickville glad to hear you got out and did well , we ended the day with 23 , when the ice is making all that noise like today it’s getting thicker , only element that expands when it freezes , seen one quad our , and one wood hut , I’ll be taking mine down Thursday , I’m hoping we don’t get as much dnow as there calling for tonight , it slows down how quickly we gain ice , it’s easy to tell new ice from old right now , the spots that opened up during the last thaw are nice 5 inches of black ice , and the new ice is thicker but not as nice , out of the 23 we kept today had one over 13 inches , could have filled a bucket with 7 inchers , i fish a lot, so I’m a little more selective, don’t really keep much under 9 inch , couple pics from today

I been noticing guys replace treble hooks with singles on there spoons. Does it increase hook up?

Out just past the lighthouse, 5 to 5.5" ice, water is very stained, slamming tanks

you could add lamprey eel to the top of your favourite slimy list @stomp..I still remember @Three Bouys with that delicious LSC eel photo..what was that again..did he bite the head off that one..I forget that part..
