Them Lake O salmon kypes is tough

Forecast for Lake O looked good - .7 foot in the am sliding to .3 by 9:00 from WNW. I think the Jolly Green Giant, who I understand lost his job representing vegetables during COVID, got hired for wave predictions. A steady diet of 2 - 3 foot rollers with a 4 footer thrown in every dozen made for an entertaining day. Took an hour and then some to hit the target depth of 180. The sound track would likely be censored after 9:00 when the waves decided to actually grow to a steady diet of 3 foot rollers with a 4.5 every so often just keep things an an uneven keel, so to speak. Lots of bait, lots of scattered marks. Apparently only one enjoyed my skilled composition of continuous swear words enough to come have a look. And I think we was more pissed than hungry too judging by his kype, and dark colours.
He got all three hooks in there, one of them obviously at an angle. Bet he didn't even feel it
It'll be pier time for shore warriors when the rains hit.

On the water at dawn. No marks inside 120 that I noticed, but I wasn't really watching. The transect map shows the water is quite warm in close. I head out to the contours and run a zig zag along them till I find where the fish are then work that depth searching for the bait that brought them. With today's winds I was through the Anchorage area and off Port D in no time

LOL, good fishing

The decent northerly winds the next couple dayd will definitely provide some colder water nearshore. Tomorrow night could be decent for stagers, I'm heading East Thursday night by the look of it.....game on! 😄😁

Was out this morning near Bronte and the lake wasn’t too bad at all less than a foot with constant little waves and lakes settled down more around 11. Best was 80-110 marking lots and lots of bait and running riggers around 70 and 12 colour did the damage today. Went 10 for 17 with one bow and lost a nice bow as well. Most of the fish were 20-25lbs. Was off the water shortly after 12 as I was baked from the sun

I was thinking of fishing the north shore, but I hate that drive and figured westerly winds would be kind to me..... insert "I should have had a V-8" face palm
