Lee-Jay charter out of Glasgow a long while back used nothing but special homemade "Green Scaled Spoons" on all his lines during the charter I was on. No minnow baits at all. He had them made by someone local if remember right. I bought about 6 of them at the marina a long time ago over 10 yrs. ago. I found one today in one of my many tackle boxes. Anyone remember this particular spoon.

I helped out Art a few times on the old steel tug. I used to laugh a lot watching the old bugger coming into the harbour when he had a few cold pops and he would usually hit the pier wall. Great guy and the name of his lure was the Grayling Grabber

My first charter out on Lake Erie was on Lee Jay Charter years ago,on his old steel tub, during one of the Great Salmon Hunt Derby’s,which were on back then. The waves 🌊 🌊 were nasty 🤢 that day,( I respect Lake Erie to this day ),and it was my first time ever, that I had “Chummed” 🤮 the waters on Lake Erie!! 😬😏 The smell of the diesel fuel I believe that he was running on his boat, didn’t help me much at all,to bring on my sickness, while I was sitting on his picnic table,( the engine with the fumes coming out,was positioned right there! 🤢 😒 ). We did end up catching a Salmon that day,and he even smoked the salmon for me for free, which I had picked up a couple of days later, and it was,” delicious 🐟🤤!!” Back then I believe,he was also using the Northport Nailers,in Chartreuse & Silver tape on the spoons. The pink lady,( photo’s),were used as well,to get the lure’s down & out quickly. A great guy all around! Tight lines & Fish ON!! to All!! 🚤🎣🐟🐟👍👍🙂
