We got out of Pefferlaw on Sunday. Fishing slow until 10:00 am then didn't take long to get our ticket. Darn cold out there until the sun showed up. Great day regardless.

Makes me glad I still have lots of those elusive mythical creatures in my freezer. My wife and I were in Superstore on Oxford last night and the price was $48.42/kg and what they still had on the shelf, I had minnows bigger than those this year. However, there was a package with what amounted to 6 "EMC" in it for $12.70. So that should tell you how small they were.

I have absolutely none zero zilch of the EMC anywhere near me----glad some people post pics so I can recall what THEY look like-----now of we had smellavision ? would know what cooked ones smell like!!!
Cooked ones Gord, smell like.......well, cooked EMC, but it really depends on how ya season it, how ya cook it (pan fried vs deep fried as an example, two totally different aromas) and whether or not your own sniffer is working at that time.

Sometimes you may not want that sniffer to be working, especially if you're trapped in an elevator when it happens and even more so if it wasn't YOU.;):ROFLMAO:

Only thing that keeps me from not going to Simcoe is the parking issue and driving through Toronto. :banghead:
Just a thought & maybe we could meet up on long point bay next week @Fish Farmer my transmission on my tow vehicle for my boat,is suppose to be fixed on Monday,November 1/20. Double digit numbers for the high most of next week & Perch ON!! 🚤🎣🐟😉👍😎

Could be a possible thing Erich, I've been going to Crystal Beach and not finding many big schools.
Buddy and myself had better luck LPB a week ago. 2 of us took home 54 keepers. (y)

Getting old and grumpy I guess;):)
Yah, I avoid Toronto like a plague, taking back roads instead, but its the same as if I to take the 400 series for time from my place
As for parking pending where you launch out of
Also thanks Dave for the info you pm me , looks like based on your reports we will be back to Simcoe and do the sorting thing again

I'm with you. IF I ever decide to head up to Lake Simcoe to put a line in the water, big "if" there, I'd avoid Toronto and get off the 401 at hwy 24 and take the back roads and make my way up through Orangville, to Tottenham, Alliston/New Tecumseth and then take 89 to hwy 27 at Cookstown then take that into Barrie depending on where I was planning to fish the lake.

If I was planning to fish the south shores of the lake, I'd stay on hwy 9 and take the bypass north of Newmarket to hwy 48 then head north again to the south shores of the lake. Why go through Toronto when you don't have too right. ;)

Well back at Simcoe today for another round of perching , not even nearly as good as last week
Around 30 keepers and 1 big pike on the perch rod , cold morning with skim ice at the boat ramp
But sunny for the day , great friends, good laughs, well worth the trip
