Last thursday, january 9/20 while day tripping from London down to the Port Rowan area,I noticed that the ice was starting to form on long point bay,and the boat channel’s,and things were starting to look promising for perhaps a ice fishing season coming up soon. But,things changed drastically since yesterday,(friday),with milder temperatures and steady rain!! This morning,(saturday, january 11),I took a drive out to Fanshawe Dam with my favourite morning beverage,a McCafe coffee ?. to see how the Thames River was flowing with all of this torrential rain, and of course, the thames River was starting to rise steadily. On a good note, there should be plenty of steelheads in our great lakes rivermouth’s,and also some walleye’s, in the detroit,st.clair, thames and grand river, etc.,once the river becomes safe to fish again, after the flooding has gone. In the meantime,I will wait and read a good magazine, (lol-??),that I picked up today. Hopefully, the weather/fishing conditions will improve real soon,& be safe & tight lines to All!!????
