Pickle time

VERY nice, heard other folks saying about shortages, days gone by there was always plenty. This new world is getting better by the day..

My wife and I did three hampers of number ones last Monday. She always picks up her salt and 7% vinegar in April and May before it gets scarce. I think 44 quarts of dills, the ss bowl turned into 20 pints of pickles with cauliflower and Pearl onions and the crock will become 30 jars of sweet 14 day icicle pickles. Next is dill carrots and green beans.

Pickles look great @Ozzy111

I noticed that too. As a habit I always check at the grocery store for curing salt, as they bring it in periodically and I need to load up for a pig I am getting in the fall. I saw the entire salt place completely empty?! So weird.

I am sure its the flour thing all over again- there is plenty of it in the world, but no little bags and boxes on the shelf.

Salt is in Canada is in short supply. Windsor salt in Windsor (LOL) has been on a bitter strike and Sifto is at 120% capacity.

Salt for all industrial applications is very tight and I imagine retail is feeling the pinch.
