Perchin' Port Burwell - June 7th

Was able to get the boat out for it's shake down today with the usual crew. Launched at 8 am and headed west from Burwell to the last windmills and set up in 34 feet of water.

Action was steady for the day, found them to be biting light and almost always on bottom. Abandoned the usual rig for a simple jig head and split shot, it seemed more effective.

Went home with 57 perch, and 1 bonus 'eye. Burwell june7.jpg

Nice catch! Seems to be quite a few reports of eyes being caught on the perchin' grounds. Anyone have any ideas on this? They chasing food? Looking for warmer water? Or just a few "dumb" ones that veered off from the pack :)

I would like to think the Wally's follow the perch around...and the perch will be spawning in close and feasting on some minnows......cud be...eh
