new to the unit

never hunted the unit as I am from eastern Ontario coming down Tuesday afternoon staying in simcoe and hoping to hunt wednesday any help would be great have a 17 foot jon boat with a 25 hp and a avery blind also a dog and lot off decoys.

With a boat that big your best bet would most likely be a shooting point on the outside edge of the unit. Others will chime in I'm sure and also the boys down their will guide you to your best spot to go with your equipment. Check out the long point waterfowl website for a map and it will show you the blinds and shooting point locations.
 
All depends what you're targeting
Divers or puddlers?
And if you have to take your boat, or are able to take a walk out blind
