Got on the water at about 7. Lake was glassy flat, so we decided to run out to the end of the point. Stopped about three miles short in 122' to set up and thats when the bugs started. Midges were relentless. We picked up three walleye before we hit 130' and turned around. Picked up another two in a pass and a half before the bugs drove us off the water. All nice 18 - 22" fish. Two came off a black 20' jet on a willow leaf harness back 450'. Two more came off a 7 colour lead core with a blueberry muffin spoon and we picked up one off a #1 Dipsey on a 3 setting back 105' also on a blueberry muffin. Nothing off the riggers. We didn't encounter any nets. The tugs were working inside the point in shallower water. Active fish seemed to be in the 20'-35' range. Looks like things may be starting east of the point.
