Got out today for 4hrs before the big rains come tonight. Still 20in of ice but it's getting soft now. In 4hrs I went though 2 dozen minnows. Caught about ten 8in perch. 1 small walleye & a pike.
Things got a little crazy & it cost me a rod & holder. Was reeling up a perch when stick rod went down 10ft away. Went after it & even dove at it but everything went down the hole. All I had to show for that one is I got soaked(just missed the rod in hole).
Same hole 15 mins later fought a pike for about 5mins before he broke me off(10ibs line). Didn’t get a chance to see it.
Also broke a buck shot hook off on setting the hook on a fish.
Crazy end to this short season!. Usually we end ice fishing season here beginning of May..
But at least I got my lines wet this winter..... with one still swimming around Remi lake
