Lard part 2...

I was able to get beef fat at Brantfood centre before they had the fire in July. They sold it to me at their ground beef price at that time $2.99/lb. Not sure if that was a good price but I couldn't find it elsewhere(didn't look too hard). Definitely interested in delbecs price.
 
I can't believe how light and clean cooking with lard tastes... Much better than the vegetable oil I was using...

Quite obviously few of you have ever hunted Bear. The only reason I do if for 5-6lbs of the finest cooking medium available.
I refer to it as medium because lard is firm when room temp.
Bear fat is semi liquid at room temp. Stores as well as refrigerated.
My better half relented just last year and made a pie using medium and had to admit it was lighter and flakes than lard.
Meat is not too bad ham and burger.
