Wow! no words can descibe how I feel right now.
First off thank you so very much Wayne for your mentoring.
This means alot to me to have shot my first bird with you, talk about the thrill of the hunt.
It was an amazing hunt, set up by 5:30am. Decoys in the field. Comfortable in the blind.
Hearing alot of gobbles around, many hens in the field staring us down.
We have a gobbler getting louder coming towards us in the bush...waiting waiting.
We are expecting this bird to appear any time, when, from the right a hen followed by a jake.
10 yards away, he sees me turn my head and begins walking away from me. I aim, he is walking quicker.
A quick chirp from Wayne, he stops lifts his head and bang, he's down. Shakin' with excitment...props from Wayne...good shot! 7:08 am

Nice jake for the table, dressed at 11.8 lbs.
