Fishing Report Burwell 10/01/24

I've seen in a couple of other posts the forecast was off.........bigly. 🙄

The mooring cover was surprisingly dry this morning. Windshield didn't even fog up heading out, weird. 🤔

Waves were not 0.1 ft as according to Windliar, they were 2.0-3.0 ft which makes for an uncomfortable ride every which way but with them.

Floundered around not marking a lot but seeing some signs of life. In our floundering we had a couple of hits and misses, a few to the boat and drove home with four walleye in the cooler.

Don't think there will be much more boat action again in Burwell for me other than to putter across the river,. load it on the trailer and bring it home.

Took a couple of wave videos but no pictures.

Its been a good season, twenty-seven trips and absolutely no idea how many fish to the boat or into the box.

C yah. 👋🤗😁🌻

I played in 3's with the odd 4' and one or two 5'ers...

I hear you...

Well the app is called wind finder and not wave finder for a reason hahahaha
Sounds like you had a good year!
I never did make it out for one last trip 🤷🏻

@hvyhaul , I use the Port Stanley Weather Buoy (https://www.ndbc.noaa.gov/station_page.php?station=45132) as a reference, it said yesterday the waves were 3 ft as @jammer posted. It may not be accurate but it does give you an idea of what is out there and I do believe it refreshes every hour. I know everyone says to double it. I find if I add about a foot to foot and half to whatever the reading is is pretty close. So 3 would be 4 41/2.
At least you got a couple fish so they are still around. I am heading down Thursday likely , supposed to be warm. The boat is coming home Sunday sadly.

I wanted to get you out on the boat again @stomp but it never happened and I apologize for that.

Relieved you got out with @Wave Runner as much as you did. 🌻
Glad you had another great year out of Burwell Stephen. If were not for @stomp I may have only got out once this year. Darren has so many health issues he only made it for single trip and was not feeling the best even then. All my other long time fishing buddies have passed on so I guess that's what happens when you live too long. :(
