The Wife and I went out of Old Cut yesterday at 7:00 am to try our luck at finding the perch again. Jimmy put us in a very roomy 6 hole hut about a half mile off shore in approximately 4 f.o.w. After settling in and setting up 4 poles with 4 different bait rigs, it wasn't long before I found myself diving to the floor to stop one of our poles from going down the hole fast. I pulled up quick to set the hook and then spent 15 minutes fighting a large pike. Not sure how much he weighed, however, he put up one hell of a fight. The perch fishing was very slow and it seemed that the perch and pike would alternate coming around. First pike, then perch, and back to pike. When all said and done, we ended up with 5 keepers for the day and caught 4 pike, only landing 2. It was a beautiful sunny day and once again great to be on the bay. The worst part of yesterday was losing my rod case with 5 ice rods off the back of the sled on the way in and I didn't realize until we got home to London. If anyone out there finds them, I would sure like to get them back. Thanks all and here is some pics from yesterdays trip.
