Well i cant find anyone to go walk out today with the left over minnows i wanted to check out the thickness at port maitland because its totally capped all the way to the light houses but im not walking out alone i dont even want to risk walking out of shitts creek by my self with only 3-4" no float suit so minnows are going into the live well maybe the chippawa creek has enough ice i could go out after work and wet a line since i live 30 secs from it

Smart move to go with someone else. I like the lower for ice fishn but I need more ice.. to big lol. Plus if you do go in I worry about the current

Yeah thats something always on my mind when we got there i droped a buckshot with a minnow down thinking i can get the tip ups out and gear situated while he does the work but the takle was too light the current pulls it almost to the bottom of the ice so i had to switch to a 1/4 oz jig. I was wondering how fast the current would be down by the lake if maitland was thick enough to walk out and towards the dam i know a couple good spots just up from the launch

Ya I like the lower section of the grand aswell. Alot of good spots but the ice is sketchy down there.
