Fished Lake ontario in the morning on Wednesday. Overall was a light bite launched at st Catherine's before first light. Stopped all over trying to mark kings boated just past port Weller and found a pocket of warm water on the probe. Was next to nobody in the area and got to work a small pocket or warm green water that was holding bait. Took a bit to get a program dialed but went 8 for 14 on kings caught a 5 lb brown and at least a dozen Lakers. At about 11 the fish completely shut down couldn't buy a another bite so we called it a morning and left. Overall was a good start to the early season more kings should show up as the water is still very cold and not set up very well.

Nice work Foulhooker!!!! Can I ask what speed you guys were trolling at and what “baites” did the heavy lifting?

@Tyler0420 What he Said find the warmest water. The probe is key this time of year most times I find it's not the surface temp as much as bottom temp that matters. The surface water is typically within a degree or 2 in a 10 mile stretch its finding that warm water 20+ feet down. Find suspended bait n u will find kings stacked up.

@Porkpie 20' lund Alaskan tiller with a 115 etec. I only have 1 pic of the boat and it's not very great. The boat is nice cause u won't find a boat with more floor space fishes 5 guys no problem does 40mph but it's a wet ride for the driver at the back.

Great boat, I just about had my rig sold and was going to buy a newer 18 foot Starcraft Freedom out of Chatham and my wife intervened. She wanted to keep the windshield. Happy wife as they say….
