Like the title says. Yes. Ice. Finally.
This weekend was amazing for us. Ice fishing with my 5 year old and my father, three generations on the ice catching perch
Our trip to Lake Couchiching was successful, I have never fished it before so a quick learning curve was needed. A few hours spent on my navionics was able to find some decent areas for perch. My dad who is newly retired and plenty of time on his hands built two Smitty sleds and we were able to walk comfortably to our site. Set up and in minutes there was perch on the ice. My 5 year old picked out some new lures and I put one on for him and with in 10 seconds of being down the hole catches a “very huge” (according to him) snot rocket.
After a day of fishing we were able to bring home 25 perch with a few jumbos mixed in. Lots and lots of small fish caught and released.
To me it was a very successful trip and again another memory for all of us!
