Hotlinefishing

Hotlinefishing was on the water for 3 mornings this week and the weather was great. The seas were calm and the walleye were slamming body baits in 64-66 feet of water from 4 miles west of Bruce to the Stanley buoy. Most of the fish were marking 53-57 feet down and the water is still warm down there similar to my last postings. I had the lines loaded up with body baits in purple/pink patterns in the early morning until about 9:30 a.m. and if the day was sunny I switched over to silver/black patterns on 1/2 the lines. The purple back lures with white/pearl or yellow bottoms continued to produce the entire day.
One of the days the grandparents treated their 10 year grandson for his birthday and he had a blast. We had enough fish by 10:30 a.m. which was similar to the charter on Friday as well where we had a two man limit before 11:30 with a late start.

Stats:
Surface temp out at 66 feet was about 69.5 degrees
Best trolling speed was 2.6 mph on the GPS
Best baits: Reef Runners 700 in purple/pink, Eriedescent,Toxic purple patterns, Live Target Sil/Black
Best lines: 8 color cores with 100-125 added, 9 color cores, Dipsey out 165-170 on 1.5 setting

Tightlines,
