Off Topic Detroit River - radio channel to listen for big boat traffic?

Planning to head out to Detroit next week, is there a best practice on avoiding big ships, maybe a traffic channel to listen to or specific side to avoid?

Don’t want to get excited with pulling fish, turn around and hear Samuel L. Jackson with “hello there mfcker”

Sarnia traffic ch 12 from Detroit river light to lake st Clair crib. Ch 11 from lake stclair crib to Huron cut buoys 11 & 12.

No radio required, you can't miss them. Their horns are very, very loud and they're not afraid to use them. You can see them coming for a long ways anyway but just keep in mind, some are not just passing through and need to get into docks along the way so it's always best to be prepared to move as they come near.
