[The Hull Truth]

Looking for some reports on how the pickerel fishing is or if there is any near the Long Point Lighthouse? We are in Long Point Bay and my son would like to go after some eyes....just not sure I want to make the trek all the way around to Burwell.

Any help would be appreciated to get this young fella on some pickerel.

We were out near the lighthouse Tuesday with no luck. Should mention that we are new to dippsies but think we had everything set up properly. There were only a few boats out there and didn,t see their nets come out either. Afterwards we stopped at the Bluffs and caught 2 nice bass. Good luck, let us know about your catch.

We did alright out there Saturday afternoon. Managed to boat 3 lakers, 8 eyes, 1 small salmon and a few silver bass. Trolling between the elbow and the lighthouse. Marked lots of bait in 50-60 fow but all fish were caught in 70-110 fow where we weren’t marking much (go figure). Two dipsys #3 setting out 125 ft and 100ft. And two leadcore, 5 colour and 6 colours. Using only ripplin red fins at 2.7 to 3.1 mph. Assortment of colours. Pink was the hot colour of the day.
Went out on Sunday and managed 5 eyes and 2 rainbows same area and program and lost a few. Blue and silver was hot. Not one bite on the pink. Fish seemed to be in the thermocline about 30-35 feet down.

Great fish....we are envious! It sure looks like there is a lot to know about this type of fishing.
