I was invited to join Emil (Ice Fisherman) and one of his sons to fish the opener on Simcoe this morning. It's kind of a tradition now therefore we met at his place in Georgetown at 4:00 am. The weather once there was pretty nice with light winds and mostly clear skies. Having Icefisherman as your guide is as close to a guaranteed success as you can get and we limited out easily. We played catch and release for a while and were headed home by late morning. Posted a photo file but have to find out how to post actual pictures.
