The suggestion Mick gave is half right about kill the gobys but my understanding is you are committing another offence if you release ANYTHING from your bait bucket including game fish. If you caught them yourself, then they need to be sorted while you are catching them and released...
I don't recall the brand but the Superstore in Simcoe was blowing out some of their summer stuff when I was in on Tuesday. They had a box type propane smoker on for $109 - regular something like $229. Not sure where you are located but might be worth a phone call to see if they still have it.
Hey Wave Runner, I know what @rushcreek was up to but was referring to Perch420's initial post - wanting to take his son out for some old time smelt fun. Incidental catch and release when you are after minnows is one thing and can't be avoided but targeting a species out of season with a net...
I hope by fishing you are talking about angling. As far as I remember, fishing for smelt has a season that closed back on May 31st.
Check the regs. before you go - you don't want a memorable experience with your son to be spoiled by fishing out of season.
Draw took place at 3:00 pm today at RR Outdoors. Some of the prizes have already been delivered. If you are on the list you will be contacted to arrange delivery of your prize.
Congratulations to all of the winners!

Sam, you are correct, the adult category bass do not have to be alive.
If you intend to eat your catch that's fine but usually a dead fish will lose weight so live is better for you. Fish must be in good condition with no signs of tampering (any indication that the fish was taken illegally)...

Another option is a Provincial Park Season's Pass April 1 to Nov 30. $125 gets you in any prov. park in the province for day use which includes the use of the ramp if they have one (like Long Point does). Just depends on the size of your boat and how much water it draws - different marinas have...
