Year class

Im trying to learn as much as I can about this sport and was hoping that someone could help me out.
The walleye that I have been catching here at Port Maitland are around 28 " long and I would like to know what year lass that they are from?
Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks two both of you, some good reading for sure. I am surprised about the migration to St. Clair, but it makes sense and I have to wonder if it still persists.
