What a beauty day!

Went out of Burwell at 8:30 hoping to get a few hours in before the big blow and ended up staying on the water for 6 hours. It’s not often the weather man is wrong in our favour! Water was so tame the rigging was a breeze for a change. Ended up boating 10 nice Pickerel and a 6lb Bow, (only action on the riggers) 2 lost without a look and 2 💩heads. Biggest Pickerel came off 7 colour lead core on an antique Jensen body bait that has to be 40 years old. Everything else was whacking dipseys with worm harnesses. Candy apple red and gold seemed to be the ticket for us. 1 rod did 80% of the work even though the other side had the exact same setup…. Mongo not know why….
#1 set on 3, 105’ back. Saw a nice Rainbow break the surface twice in quick succession back about 100’ from the boat… thought he was trying to jump in the effin’ boat! We wanted to stay out all day. Sure hope the fella with the trawler fire is all good. It was strange that the call was coming through Sarnia when the boat was 5NM south of Woolley’s in the elbow.
