Spent the opener morning with 4 fine chaps in a muddy clay silage field. We were all able to lay down some ducks and geese. Ran into some trouble with most of the ducks setting down in the back of the field where there is a pond surrounded by cut silage. Sooooo... we knew where the evening hunt would be. Not as many mallards returned but the woodies were coming in nicely. In favour of ducks, we were passing up shots on geese (had enough of those from the early season.). AND... at long last, I got a band!
28 ducks today. Mostly woodies and mallards. But got 1 black and a Pintail.
17 Geese
