Unfortunately this monster is not going away regardless what measures they impose until this reaches herd immunity. That will never be attained by hiding in our basements, it will only prolong the inevitable until it runs it's course. Vaccines are only part of the solution to attaining herd immunity not the fix all. Meanwhile if we keep shutting down everything soon there won't be anything left to reopen. If you think we have problems now you haven't seen anything until you see the nightmare a destroyed economy will entail such a another depression. There is already a historic rise in domestic violence, mental illness, substance abuse disorders and suicides since this pandemic began. Add a collapsed economy to the equation will undoubtedly result in significantly more deaths than this pandemic will ever cause.
