That's for fixed sliders downrigging . Say you want your slider 25 feet above your cannon ball let your main line out , clip to your cannon ball like normal lower 25 feet clip on to the main line ( rubber end )then clip slider on circle end. Lower to whatever depth you want . Your slider stays 25 feet above the ball till a fish hits then it releases and work's like a normal slider

Exactly, I was going to try and type that but couldn't find the words. Michigan stinger make a similar device.
