Well the youth fishing day was an astounding success. Six boats where involved with some of the best Captain's in the business. Close to 100 yellow pickerel harvested 16 youth participants parents and crew. All the youth have now mastered a new skill or two. The smiles say it all!! Lots of the youth were elbows deep on the cleaning table. Thanks to Big otter for hosting and all the volunteers and a super thank you to all who donated. Should I mention the lead volunteer Davin of Real Therapy you done a great job with the organization of the event. Kudos 👏 to all. Side note not one youth was used as a chummer today as the lake was nice and flat.

A huge thank you to everyone involved, my 12 and 14 year old had a great weekend and I could never have imagined everything that went into this event. We headed down Saturday and the weather did not cooperate, rather than it being a loss the organizers gave us an incredible and educational morning followed by a fantastic lunch. Sunday we ventured down again and had a great day of fishing. I could not believe how great a job everyone did on the Saturday to make a rain delay a good experience for the kids, the crew was all amazing on the boat, lots of patience even when kids asked the same question about 20 times in a row. first class all the way. thank you so much everyone.

Kids are already saying we should now try a salmon charter.

What an incredible couple of days! Plan was to go on Sat morning after looking at various weather apps it looked as though the storm would pass.... Well they were all wrong. We made the decision to not go out on Sat but rather postpone the fishing until Sunday. That said Saturday was a very busy day for the kids! Thanks to our donors all of the kids went home with fishing rods, reels, tackle boxes and shirts. Saturday morning we showed them hands on how to fill the spool with line, tie on leaders and hooks, discussed what type of rods and reels we use on our boats, what type of lures we use and a special thanks to Al the local Game Warden who came in and talked to kids for over an hour about conservation, rules and safety. He answered every question that they had and they left with better understanding of why rules and regulations are in place. We then moved the group up to the tent where we all had sweet corn, burgers and hot dogs. (All possible through donations) While we didn't get out on Sat the interaction and conversations were great! Sunday we were a go! Everyone arrived early and shortly before 8 we headed out on a very flat Lake Erie. Then the fun began! Lots of fish lots of laughs and good times had by all.

I would like to thanks all of the great captains that donated their time and costs to make this happen
