Port Bruce Yesterday

Made my second trip to Port Bruce Tuesday afternoon, As usual I was out for cats and they cooperated. I caught several big ones around 30", a couple a little smaller along with two huge Drum/sheephead, one over 30". One big cat got off just out of reach of my net and another unseen broke the leader, probably frayed line from ones caught earlier. Raw shrimp was the ticket on a simple slip sinker rig with octopus hooks. The bites were light taps rather than the usual thump and run, probably due to still cool water temp. The water was Timmys double double due to heavy rain the previous night. I saw others dipping for minnows without much success. A few other fish caught appeared to be either cats or drum. The weather turned nice that afternoon, but still strong wind from the southwest, the lake was muddy to the horizon. It's nice to know the cats have woken up, looking forward to getting back at them soon.
