Thanks for the warm welcome!

I'm really hoping to get out Wednesday early morning... That's if the weather permits. I only have a little 16' fibreglass boat.

Is just running lead core line (8colours) with a spoon or worm harness any good for those walleyes?

Welcome to the forum Frank. Depending on how deep the walleye are 8 color lead will suffice most of the time. If fish are higher less colours and of course there will be times when you will need more than 8 colour to get deeper. I personally don't run worm harnesses but many do and do quite well, I prefer spoons and body baits. Many different spoons work well as do body baits and depending on the day colour can be as critical as depth. Watch the posts and most will help you determine best colour and kind of lures that are hot as well as depths, trolling speed etc.

Good luck trolling for walleyes as we have a tremendous fishery here on Erie. Be safe out there and choose your days wisely when venturing out that far in a 16 footer. Here are 2 excellent websites to help you with wind forecasts.
