Fishing Report Nanticoke

[Red Gator]

Lines in at 6:00am. Started a bit east from last Thursday in 60 fow trolling toward the elbow. First bow 7 lb 4oz on a blueberry muffin spoon down 37’ over 65 fow. Marked lost of bait with hooks around but nothing wanted to play. Trolled out to 90fow marking lots of bait. Connected with a 3lb 10oz bow 60’ down over 85fow on a pearl bomer long A. Packed up at 11:30. 3 commercial tugs trawling the area this morning. Assuming the bait we were marking were smelt.

I was out there as well. Stayed until 3:00ish ended up with 3 walleye, 3-7lb, and 4 nice football shaped rainbows. Boy those fish are fat. Everything on body baits, Yozuri diving crank, green bomber long A, gold/black deep thunderstick did most of the damage. I tried a couple of spoons, but not a sniff. One of the bows had some gobies but the rest had smelt.

I did not see any within a few miles east of the shoal, 50-80 FOW. That was on June 30th though.

Sorry for the slow response. I did not see any nets, but there were three trawler working.

They were trawling on Monday. A little early for the gill netters.

Seen 3 different nets out front of Port Maitland this morning.
