The LPWA wants member input on 2013 maintenance priorities. Many inside blinds are high and dry this season. Where should the dollars be spent? Glenn Hanson will be chairing the meeting at the Unit Registration Office after shooting ends on Friday the 23rd. Hope you can be there.

Glenn Hanson and the Board of Directors;

As many of us have to work (or cannot attend for other reasons) I hope there will be some other way for members to have input instead of just this one meeting ?

Hi Chris,
Yes, anyone can direct their views to one or more of the directors or send them via email to lpwa@kwic.com. The meeting provided an opportunity to get a consensus. If an individual submits an idea we can only guess how others will respond. However, every idea submitted by a member gets reviewed by the board. The advantage of the meeting was reaching a broader base plus as mentioned above, if we get consenus there its a done deal if we can get the permits and have the money.

Very good ! Makes sense to reach as many members as possible. Is it possible for Glenn to post a summary of the meeting ?

Thanks !
Chris

As always...any member can request copies of the minutes after participants have had a chance to challenge the accuracy of what was recorded.

How about doing some basic work to make a few more walk-in blinds? There always seems to be a lot of demand for them and there may be some opportunities out there for a long walk in with the low water. A nice trail accessible by the gator with a handicap accessible blind would make for icing on the cake. Looking at the unit map maybe such a trail could go back to the area around 12, 22 or 27.

Thank you for your input. We may have to look at those options very seriously if the situation does not improve.

TinBoater;

I suggested making #11 a walk-out blind seeing as we made a pond off of Old Cut blvd and all the crap could've been used to make a berm to walk out to the blind but the powers that be don't want to "dike" up the marsh. They recently dug the channel in front of our cottage on Old Cut blvd. and left huge piles of sand running the length of it but that seems to be OKay(?). We can hope for higher water next year but Mother Nature runs on cycles and if you look at the history of the lake levels we are in a downward slide and havn't hit bottom yet !
