For the 2nd year, LPBAA and Erie Bassmasters is hosting the Long Point Bay Big Bass Derby!
Tickets and posters are just being printed but I wanted to make sure everyone knows about this derby in advance. A portion of the proceeds will again be donated to three worthy causes. Norfolk Association for Community Living, Camp Trillium and Port Rowan Food Bank. When you buy a $10 Derby ticket, you are really helping these three organization too.
If you need incentive how about $1000 dollars cash for heaviest largemouth and smallmouth bass?
Hummingbird 688 sonars for a prize, along with Minn Kota trolling motors for another prize, along with a host of other prizes from winners 2 to 10 in both LM and SM categories.
Oh almost forgot, by popular demand we will also have a free kids derby this year, for kids 12 years old and under. They will have a separate weigh in table at MacDonald's Turkey Point Marina along side of the ticket holders and will have their own prizes for the top five fish weights. There will be grab bags too so make sure to take your kids to the weigh in with their catch of day. No tickets required this is total free and no registration required for them, and their catch can be fish found in Long Point Bay.
Derby tickets will soon be available, we have a new vendor this year in Stratford , Southern Ontario Sportsman Warehouse. So check out our vendors and get your tickets for this event and come to the weigh in at Turkey Point Marina. Presentations will be at 3pm on June 24 2017.

Glad this tournament is back again! $10 a ticket is well worth the money. Bought two last year for both large & small mouth. Biggest I had last year was a 2.86Lb small mouth, no where near placing on the top ten :cry: but the money does go to good causes (y)
 
Great to see this event is being carried on by some great volunteers. Hope everyone comes out to support the great causes and have a chance to win some great prizes. If possible take a kid with you, free derby for them and a great way to get them excited about fishing and being in the outdoors. Chris.
 
One week out!! Things are coming together nicely. All our prizes are in place. Cash top prizes, Humminbird gps fishfinders, trolling motors, rod and reel combos and much more. If you don't have your tickets yet make sure to visit one of our local vendors on the poster or keep an eye out at Old Cut, Booth' Harbour, Aker's, Turkey Point ramps for one of our Erie Bassmasters or LPBAA members to get yours! I will be weighing every fish in the adult division, looking forward to seeing lots of stomps members and some big bass!! See you all this weekend!!

Can I still get tickets and where? Does Canadian tire have them?
 
There will be guys from our clubs at Old Cut, Pt.Rowan, Aker's, Booth's Harbour, and Turkey Point ramps if you keep an eye out for them. You can grab one before you launch in the morning. Guys will be at the ramps by 5am.
 
I`m not sure how this post from 2 years ago surfaced...but for those that are interested and we are just printing the posters and tics in April 2019 The Erie Bassmasters and the LPBAA are holding the Big Bass Derby again this year June 22nd 2019....more news to come on the cash, and the awesome prizes for this this years derby.
