lets find theses people

What I don't understand is why the police are so reluctant to release any details to the media anymore. I can understand them withholding information if it could affect their investigation but here they are openly asking for the public's help yet they don't release the name of the business or what was stolen. Based on the details (or lack thereof) provided, we can only assume that this robbery was at Angling Outfitters. I'd be happy to keep my eye open for people selling their booty on the cheap but since they won't tell us whether we're looking for reels, lures, downriggers, or chartplotters it's kind of hard.....anyway, I hope they find the perp's and recover the unmentioned items.

We were broke into a few yrs back, I thought at the time, the police could have gave out more info in hopes of the public helping with recovery? Looking back, I think dealing with B&E's daily, they probably have set procedure's to follow. The shit head scum doing the crimes, probably, for the most part, know enough not to post their weir's in the local classified rag's or Kijiji, or fisherman's forum's?? If the police were to advertise photo's, S#'s, I think this would only cause the pukes to sell there loot farther away or sit on it. I did learn during our break in, the police have quite a network of small town informant weasel's that know when good's become available? Not saying it's the right method, but they did catch the pill cowboy's in our case, a couple of week's, and a few more B&E's later.
We got nothing back, gun's, jewelry and electronics had already been dispersed, what did the pill cowboy's get as punishment? We were never allowed that info, but my old school guess towards crime today, probably three hot's and a cot for way to short of time.
Gun's and TV's can be replaced, wife still has moment's over jewelry handed down over generation's, melted down for weight. End of the day, wish I would have came home 20 minutes earlier, not playing the tough guy card here, don't know what would have happened, but I'll always wonder.

If they hit Jos's place and only got $8,000 worth of product they sure aren't the sharpest tacks in the box.
They'll eventually get caught but it sure sucks in the mean time.

Theft makes me so angry! We all work hard for what we have. Not to mention the emotional side, someone you don't know has violated your personal space. I can buy a new GPS, Fish finder, etc but that thought that fear haunts you. I would have the exact feelings as you, can't miss. What if I had been there? It could have been FAR worse! Welcome to Canada someone breaks in, takes your stuff, and then the victim is suddenly the thief and the home owner goes to jail for defending his property.

Mr Rex, you nailed the worst part of having your domain violated. Can't say I hate to leave home turf now because of our B&E, but will admitt, 3 yrs out, the thought of a recurrence is always there?
Can't say a lot about Canada's home protection law's? Don't want to end up on a no fly list??? End of the day though, it's my family, my stuff, before I say to much, I'll just refer back to, wish I was home 20 minutes earlier.

 Not trying to be an idiot @Woodsman, but just try defending your family or home under current laws. You will find out quickly that your property and defense rights certainly were taken away as @WinSX3Tom has stated. Reality will set in when they are taking you away to jail in the squad car and afterwards when the financial ruin of legal defense begins. Too many of us still blithely assume we have a right to self-defense, against the mugger on the street corner or the home invader. This is simply not true here anymore. For all practical purposes the police and Crown want us to sit passively, see our property stolen or destroyed and loved ones assaulted, and wait for the police to arrive from the doughnut shop. This is bad enough in urban areas. In rural areas, where the nearest OPP detachment could be miles and many minutes away, it is asking people to surrender themselves to the tender mercies of the worst in Canadian society. Victims of violence in Canada, who defend themselves, are being attacked twice. Once by the criminals and again by their own government as many Canadian citizens have found out the hard way. At my age I have no fear of prosecution due to the stupidity of our weak laws. If someone comes into my house in the middle of the night they will be introduced without the slightest hesitation to Mr. Winchester 12 gauge 00 buck and the chips can fall where they may.

I'm one of those old guys that lived through the Liberal lunacy of Pierre Trudeau but was not one who ever voted for him. Now we have his know nothing son to lead Canada down the same road, he's his father on steroids. When his father took over the reigns as Prime Minister Canada's debt was $11.4 billion. When he left it was a $579 billion which we, our children and grandchildren have been saddled with ever since. I shudder to think what a dangerous "Obama inspired" Justin Trudeau has in mind with a majority government to implement his wacky ideology. :wacky: :banghead:

He's targeting people that weren't alive back then, making it seem like the more socialist ideas of the time were Trudeau' s alone. The States had the same wage and price controls - it turned out they were just as disastrous for them.It took Reagan to legitimize the idea that 'trickle down' economics was they way to boost prosperity - the difference between us and the States is that they also strove for huge tax cuts (meaning less government services). Frum has been a shill for Republicans for decades - the one time speech writer for GWB ( now there's a nation destroying leader who will be written about in history books as the worst ever - and possible war criminal) has been born into a cushy life and takes every opportunity to warp history into a revisionist Conservative odyssey. I laughed out loud at the part about the mid 60s being peaceful utopian times...wars raging , women and minorities with few rights, censorship, riots in the streets, strikes and Quebec terrorism ....yup it was a great time to be a white man in a suit. If you were a rich little kid like Frum it must have seemed like heaven. The Trudeau era marked a change in society. Like now most sensible Canadians recognized that change would be good. And like most politicians he had a shelf life. I welcomed the Mulrony years and even though they promised fiscal responsibility they were not able to deliver on that, so we went on to Chretien....and so on and so on

I still haven't seen a reference to the fact that Trudeau (Sr.) had anything to due with the current laws about our about property and defence rights as alluded to in a previous post. Not arguing about the current situation but to put the blame on Trudeau (Sr.) and not being able to back it up with a creditable reference is just being used as a easy way to discredit our current Prime Minister. Even if Trudeau (Sr.) did this how does it reflect on the current Prime Minister.
As this thread actually had nothing to do with politics why has it taken this road.
It was about a robbery which I'm sure all of us are disturbed about.
Nothing in the robbery had anything to do with a property owner defending themselves.

Woodsman, that is the way a conversation works. Start out talking about the weather and five minutes later you're discussing eastern religions.

this forum is becoming a bitchernette joke, be on the look out for ice fishing gear stolen from angling outfitters . and moronic bitchenette so called fisherman and keyboard warriors

How about the time he enforced the "War Measures Act" , thereby revoking habeus corpus in our country. Cant think of a more credible or blatant example of Trudeau effecting our " property and defence rights".

WTF???
What does that have to do with your rights to protect your home and personal defense?
This was during the FLQ crisis in Quebec & has absolutely nothing to due with your rights as a property owner or your personal defense.
