Latest Lake Erie population

Wishful thinking that the quotas won't be raised in a couple years if the number of adult fish increases;) these kind of studies are what is used to set the quotas each year. More fish = higher quota. Less fish = smaller quota.

The number of gobies is in decline as well and likely stabilizing at a lower level after the initial population explosion. Predators taking more and more advantage of them as a food source is definitely another factor keeping them in check. I'm sure that will in turn result in better hatch and survival rates in the lakes other species.

Mother Nature should be given an award for the great job she does cleaning up our mess and putting order back into place. Let's hope she can handle the asian carp next.
