Headed out for a shot at Salmon and Bows Monday. Volvo inboard had momentary overheating problems - great to be fishing with 2 of Toronto's best HVAC guys, Mike and Jeff from MAGTECH. Problem resolved, began trolling, and thanks to this board and Erie experience it paid off.
Fished 120 FOW down 80; about 11:00 a.m. a 24 lb blackmouth smashed a green crankbait - madness ensued and with two wraps of line left on the spool, we were fortunate to land it. Landed a nice eating size rainbow an hour later and lost a shaker to end the day.
Key was the reliable Erie three-way rig, with the crank on the long leader. Rainbow rig had a green dodger in front.
