Cold wintery Steelhead

I took a gamble and made the long drive to the river Sunday morning hoping to find no slush. The temp was -11 in London when I left but thankfully only -2 at my destination. I arrived to find the river 100% ice free ? Hoping for a nice day with a high of zero, sunny skies and light winds we set off.....well the sun came out for about 1/2hr after sunrise and then promptly disappeared for the remainder of day, the wind picked up to near 50km/h and the temp slowly dropped all day. Not fun

I was plenty warm enough all day but my fishing partner was shaking and unable to use his hands the entire trip. Instead of slowing down and picking apart the better holding areas with the long rods I ended up hurrying through the day and covering water quickly with hardware, stopping breifly at a few spots to hook a few under the float. I managed to bank a fair number while frozen freind went 1/1...

Here's a few that were polite enoigh to pose for a pic ?
