Twenty-eight grass carp have been caught in the Great Lakes since 2013, isolated outliers of what officials fear will become a full-scale invasion.

Grass carp being caught are not new, nor much of a concern. There's a small population in Ohio. They are not the carp we need to worry about IMO. The Bighead and Silver carp are the ones to keep an eye on.

Tench and Rudd, despite being newer invasive are also unlikely to have much of an impact on our current fisheries. The outlook for our great lakes sportfishery isn't all doom and gloom.....yet

@Get Hooked , it sounds like you need to drink lots of the lake water containing the anti-depressants
:p . That post was a fishing buzzkill,
I wish I had of known that the day of the pike derby. I could have drank a gallon or two and maybe would have made things easier coming in with no fish weigh. :grumpy:? ?
