Is the long point bay derby on again this year?
 
Yes it on ,tickets can bought in most can/tire store in norfolk county ,there will be somebody at all marinas on the bay
and at rotten ronnies . to sell tickets.The draw for the boat this year on Canaba day, good luck to all who have entered the derby
 
For the Junior Division (under 18) the fish has to be alive. This is to prevent small bass being killed and wasted.

For the Adult Division, the fish does not need to be alive. If people want to eat their catch it is within the rules but if they prefer to release it, the live release boat will be on site at the weigh in station. If the fish appears to have been tampered with in any way it is the right of the weigh in staff to decline the entry.

Just a reminder guys, and gals. If you are going out for the opener, you might want to check that youre boat is ready for the water. Every year some people go down to the bay,and dont undestand why their motor wont run .
Taking it out of storage, and expecting it to run does not always work..

Take care on the water ,and enjoy the day.
